Aromatherapy massage involves a relaxing massage incorporating precious essential oils  (if you'd like us to increase the pressure and work on knots just ask), during the massage the oils are inhaled and absorbed into the bloodstream through the skin. Although they aren't used as a cure to ailments they are effective at alleviating many of the discomforts associated with them. Aromatherapy benefits are numerous but include aiding headaches, poor sleep, digestion, hormone problems, and improving skin tone.
Reflexology involves applying pressure to the feet using specific thumb, finger and hand techniques. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that are believed to mirror an image of the body on the feet, therefore technique is worked on these zones with an aim of prompting a change in that area of the body. Reflexology has many benefits which may include aiding circulation, digestive disorders, back problems, sinus problems, sports injuries and reducing pain.

Prior to treatment : Your massage / reflexology treatment will begin with a thorough consultation so that we can establish your requirements & deliver a treatment that meets your expectations.
During the treatment :
Massage : You will be given complete privacy to undress and position yourself comfortably on the couch where a blanket will be available to cover yourself with. Your modesty will be protected throughout the treatment and only the area that is being treated at the time will be uncovered. The therapist will use oil during the massage so it is advisable to keep this in mind when choosing what to wear after your treatment.
Reflexology : You will be asked to remove your shoes and socks and position yourself comfortably on the couch. Your feet will be cleansed before the therapist performs your treatment. The technique used on the feet involves slightly firmer pressure than a normal foot massage whilst still being a painless and relaxing treatment, therefore this treatment may also be suitable for clients with 'ticklish feet'.
How often should you book massage / reflexology appointments : Both treatments are wonderful as 'one off' pamper treats, alternatively if you would like regular appointments, your therapist can tailor a treatment plan that is suitable for you and your needs.
Aftercare Advice : Your therapist will give you aftercare advice relevant to your treatment and as a general guide you can also expect the following:
You will feel relaxed and possibly sleepy so be aware of this when planning the rest of your day.
You may feel thirsty as your body is flushing out toxins due to the increase in lymph circulation so drink plenty of water for the following 24 hours.
You may also feel the need to go to the toilet more than usual, again this is due to the increase in lymph circulation and is completely normal.
